Christian Benford has been the Buffalo Bills’ defensive MVP over the past two games, but is now dealing with a toe injury.

Cornerback Christian Benford didn't practice on Friday, but the Bills have not ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

On Thursday ahead of the huge AFC East game on Sunday, it appears the Bills (9-4) saw their top cornerback leave practice early because of a toe injury. On Buffalo's injury report that day, Benford was listed as limited after not being on the injury report on Wednesday.

The fourth-year player out of Villanova has emerged as Buffalo’s top corner and has been asked to shadow some of the NFL’s best receivers.

Benford (toe) was listed as a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

Otherwise, the team’s injury report was largely the same as on Wednesday. Linebacker Terrel Bernard (elbow), defensive end Joey Bosa (hamstring/wrist), offensive lineman Spencer Brown (shoulder), and receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) all remained limited.

CB, better known as top Bills cornerback Christian Benford, was sent on a first-and-10 blitz, unblocked, and he had Burrow in his sights for a takedown. Rather than trying to scramble or take the sack, Burrow’s reaction was to loft the ball toward Ja’Marr Chase.

Benford and the Bills’ defensive backs have their hands full with New England’s collection of weapons in the passing game. Former Buffalo receiver Stefon Diggs caught 10 passes for 146 yards in the first game these two teams played back in October.
