After repping three quarterbacks through the first two weeks of fall camp, Fresno State coach Matt Entz has settled on one. Senior E.J. Warner, a transfer from Rice, will start the Bulldogs’ Aug. 23 opener at Kansas, outlasting redshirt sophomores Carson Conklin and Jayden Mandel in a competition Entz said was extremely close.

Fresno State quarterback E.J. Warner, the son of former Super Bowl and two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner, will start for the Bulldogs in their Week 0 game at Kansas, according to ESPN. This will be the third separate school that Warner has started for in four years at the collegiate level.

Transfer quarterback E.J. Warner was named Fresno State's starter under center for the 2025 season, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
