MACON, Ga. — For the first time in 10 years, the United States has made it to mid-October without a single hurricane making landfall. The last time this happened was during the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season. Every year since then, at least one hurricane has reached U.S. shores before the end of September—until now.
To date, Arizona and New Mexico have spent 6 days each in the cone from a pair of tropical systems in the eastern Pacific. That is double the amount of days Florida has spent in the cone during the 2025 season. Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have spent no days in the NHC forecast cone.
