Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed Indiana’s “Speedway Slammer,” a successor to the “Alligator Alcatraz” immigration detention facility in Florida. The facility will add 1,000 beds to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s detention capacity and follows several other proposed iterations of “Alligator Alcatraz.

The new migrant detention facility is clearly a planned follow-up to the Florida-based Alligator Alcatraz, which was opened earlier this year
