Ideally, a marketing plot like this would result in a nice split… but that doesn’t feel true in this particular case. The Thunderbolts, being a surreptitious way of assembling a new version of Earth’s Mightiest Heroe,s always seemed like the most obvious answer to the presented riddle, and I was hoping for something a bit more advanced.

In an unusual marketing move, Marvel Studios is rebranding "Thunderbolts*" under a new name that spoils the final scene of the film.

It should be no surprise whatsoever to Marvel fans that the asterisk at the end of the title of Thunderbolts* has a meaning that ties directly back to comics. But now, Marvel is spoiling the meaning itself in a new poster that straight up renames the movie.
