Minneapolis, MN ( KROC-AM News )- Three lives were taken by violent crimes over the Independence Day weekend in Minneapolis .
The killing appears to be the 26th homicide in Minneapolis this year, which is down from 33 at the same point last year, according to the city's crime dashboard.
The Minneapolis Police Department says that officers responded to a stabbing near Penn and Lowry avenues at around 2:35 p.m.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, officers arrested a 58-year-old man for a fatal stabbing that occurred near a bus shelter at Nicollet Avenue and South Fifth Street.
