A “potent” weather system will enter North and Central Texas on Wednesday, steering the development of a dryline, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. A dryline is the boundary separating dry and moist air masses, where severe thunderstorms often develop.

As red flag warnings crop up across wide swathes of West and North Texas this week, a section east of Dallas-Fort Worth could see another kind of risk on Wednesday afternoon: punishing severe storms.

Wednesday will be another warmer-than-average day across North Texas with sunny skies. A First Alert Weather Day is in effect today for a red flag warning and the low chance of isolated storms in the late afternoon.
