President Trump isn't kidding around with his new threat to the NFL's Washington Commanders, the White House says.

Josh Harris, whose group bought the team from Dan Snyder in 2023, said earlier this year the Commanders name was here to stay.

For nearly a century, the pro football team in Washington D.C. went by one moniker — the Redskins. Facing widespread criticism for years regarding the name, the franchise dropped the tag after the 2020 seasons ultimately opted to be called the Commanders beginning in 2022.
