In the meantime, a tornado warning was issued for part of Macomb County at 1:12 p.m. The warning was expected to remain in effect until 2 p.m., but was lifted around 1:24 p.m., the National Weather Service reported. The severe thunderstorm, which was capable of producing a tornado, was located over Royal Oak, near Troy, and moving northeast.

This newest tornado watch issued at around 1 p.m. Eastern covers the next area to have tornadic storms move into it. The Michigan counties in the tornado watch are: Berrien, Branch, Cass and St. Joseph.

A Tornado Watch is in effect, as is a Flood Watch, for large swaths of the Chicago area Wednesday. The possibility of stronger tornadoes is most likely from Ottawa to the Loop, especially on the South Side,

Much of the central United States, from Texas through Missouri and up into the Great Lakes region, was threatened by severe weather Wednesday, with the potential for powerful winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes.
