Vice President JD Vance’s security detail had an Ohio river’s water level raised last week to accommodate a kayaking trip he took with his family for his 41st birthday.

The Secret Service said the boats the agency uses for security are usually motorized and need deeper waters to operate.

A request from Vice President JD Vance led to a temporary rise of the Ohio River water levels to accommodate his family vacation.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Trump on Tuesday if his vice president is “the heir apparent to MAGA,” and the president suggested that he would be a top contender. He also said that there are other potential candidates, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

While President Donald Trump has previously publicly floated both JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential heirs, he has so far refused to anoint a successor ahead of the 2028 campaign.
