Federal immigration authorities have arrested the head of Wisconsin's largest Islamic organization, the Trump administration announced Thursday.

The niece and grandniece of Qassim Soleimani, the late Iranian general, have been arrested by federal immigration agents in Los Angeles.

The statement said that ICE arrested 13 “illegal aliens” from countries including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. It alleged that one person resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.

Overall, ICE has arrested more immigrants with no criminal record, compared with those with a conviction, since Trump took office again last year. Since January 2025, ICE has arrested more than 146,000 immigrants with no charges or convictions, compared with more than 127,000 immigrants with a criminal conviction.
