MILAN (AP) — The powerful U.S. figure skating squad will have its first opportunity to shine at the Winter Olympics on Friday when the team competition begins at the Milano Ice Skating Arena just hours before the opening ceremony.

The team features Alysa Liu, Isabeau Levito and Amber Glenn in women’s singles; Ilia Malinin, Maxim Naumov and Andrew Torgashev in men’s singles; pairs teams Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea, and Emily Chan and Spencer Howe; and ice dance teams Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, and Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko.

Alex Carpenter, Joy Dunne, and Hilary Knight scored for Team USA, which is slated to play Finland on Saturday.
