Notre Dame’s star running back Jeremiyah Love wasn’t able to bring the Heisman Trophy back to South Bend, as he finished third in the voting.

The 2025 Heisman Trophy Ceremony show is set to take place on Saturday, as the most prestigious college football award is handed out.

Two years ago Indiana University was 3-9 and had more losses than any college football program in history. At the time, Fernando Mendoza V was struggling his way through his first year as a starter at Cal.

Heisman Trophy voters must do a better job of recognizing players other than quarterbacks. Texas Tech’s Jacob Rodriguez deserved more votes.

When all was said and done, the final results dubbed Mendoza as the Heisman winner for his body of work with the Hoosiers. It capped off a strong season for Notre Dame, but also one that was surrounded by drama once the season ended.
