Palestinian families are eagerly awaiting the planned release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.

Two Israeli captives have been freed in Rafah, three in Nuseirat and one is expected to be released in Gaza City.

The Israeli army killed an elderly Palestinian couple after using them as human shields during an invasion of Gaza City last May.

Israel has started the process of identifying the bodies, with the family of captive Oded Lifshitz announcing that their loved one has been confirmed as being one of four. Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man in Gaza City’s eastern neighbourhood of Shujayea.
