An extreme heat watch is in effect from Thursday through Sunday next week for the Valley and much of southern Arizona, as temperatures surge to 20–25 degrees above average.

Temperatures will continue to warm into Sunday with the return of above-average temperatures in the 80s.

By the afternoon, temperatures will vary widely across Southern Arizona. Areas east of Pima County will stay cooler with highs mainly in the 70s, while locations west of Tucson could reach the 90s.

We may see record-breaking highs very soon in the Valley, and triple digits for the first time in 2026 next week.
