Some central Ohio schools have closed Jan. 26 due to the snow and cold winds from a severe winter storm that dumped several inches of snow across central Ohio. The level 3 snow emergency declared for Franklin County Jan. 25 has continued into Jan. 26.
Snow removal continues: Across the region, plows continue to make progress on clearing roads and streets. Cincinnati residents can use the city's snow plow tracker to see the status of their streets and those in their neighborhood.
Clermont, Warren and Butler counties in Ohio and Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Northern Kentucky remain under level 2 snow emergencies. Under a level 3, roads are closed to non-emergency personnel. "No one should be driving unless it is a personal emergency," a sheriff's office alert states.
Schools, libraries and community centers have closed around the central Ohio region, and some health systems are delaying elective surgeries or closing urgent care locations due to the snow. Kroger's Columbus division locations closed early on Jan. 25 due to the snow, but all locations are open on Jan. 26.
Individuals can check to see if they have any unclaimed funds at unclaimedfunds.ohio.gov. The website allows individuals to claim their funds, provide the required paperwork and check on the status of their claims.
