Vince McMahon's lawyer says the federal probe into his client has ended with no charges filed, a day after an appellate court ruling on withheld documents.

A lawyer for Vince McMahon said Wednesday that Manhattan federal prosecutors have dropped their criminal probe into whether the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) co-founder attempted to cover up multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

Vince McMahon‘s lawyer claims the federal government’s investigation into the former WWE Chairman has been dropped. The New York Post reports a lawyer representing Vince McMahon told them that federal prosecutors in Manhattan have dropped their criminal investigation against him.

Yesterday (Feb. 11), a federal appeals court ruling came down that related to the hush money scandal which twice forced Vince McMahon to resign from WWE. That led to questions about whether a criminal probe of McMahon by the United States Department of Justice — for improperly handling the hush money payments and/or any illegal activity or behavior they were supposed to keep under wraps — was still ongoing.
