SAINT PAUL –– The Boston Bruins closed out their road trip with a 6-2 loss against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at Grand Casino Arena.​ The Bruins collected four of the six points available on the three-game outing.

The Boston Bruins’$2 6-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild Sunday isn’t worth panicking over given that they had already won their first two games on this road trip. But, there were a couple issues that bubbled up to the surface that are worth noting.

The Bruins will have an unexpected new challenge when they face the Minnesota Wild on Sunday in St. Paul. The Wild acquired Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks on Friday evening according to ESPN. The Canucks’ disappointing start had created considerable rumors that Hughes, the 26-year-old former Norris Trophy winner, could get dealt.

St. PAUL, Minn. -- Quinn Hughes scored in his debut with the Minnesota Wild, a 6-2 win against the Boston Bruins at Grand Casino Arena on Sunday. Hughes made it 4-0 at :54 of the third period with wrist shot down the middle that beat Jeremy Swayman five-hole.

Gonzaga is full of talent, and it will be up to Bilodeau to match that with his scoring ability. Bilodeau also needs to step up in the rebounding department as the third-highest rebounder on the Bruins, with 4.7 a game.

The Bruins just got Charlie McAvoy back in the lineup, but the team suffered a couple more injuries in a 6-3 win over the Jets on Thursday.

Marat Khusnutdinov is back in Minnesota for the first time since getting traded to Boston in March. The 23-year-old forward was a second-round pick for the Wild in the 2020 NHL Draft, and he played a cumulative 73 games for the team over two seasons.

Minnesota fans are looking forward to this one, as Quinn Hughes is slated to make his Wild debut. The Wild have also won three straight and seven of their last ten, so the vibes are good in Minnesota at the moment. Enter the Bruins, who have won four straight and seven of their last ten.
