Update: Nearly fully contained – Hawick Fire in San Diego County at 90%
Hawick Fire initially started 3:31 p.m. June 19 in San Diego County, California. After being active for 40 hours, it has burned 51 acres. A fire crew of three has been working on site and they managed to contain 90% of the fire by Saturday morning. The cause of it remains under investigation.
The fire was reported Tuesday afternoon, June 17, near El Monte Rd in Lakeside in East San Diego County and quickly led to evacuations for nearby residents.
