The Kansas City Royals crushed four home runs and took advantage of some excellent batted ball luck to bury the Chicago Cubs 12-4 in Wrigley Field. It was a particularly delightful game, especially in light of the team’s struggles with runners in scoring position and bad luck.
The Royals know they have the next nine or so games to turn things around before the Trade Deadline. The team’s top hitters are going to have to step up to keep them in the American League Wild Card race.
The Royals television crew will get a couple of days off this week. The Cleveland Guardians are coming to Kauffman Stadium for a weekend series against the Royals and two of the games will air on national TV.
