In a discussion moderated by newly-elected Ohio Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Clyde, Martin, said that Ohio will be “critical” to Democratic strategy in 2026, with an open governor’s race, Senate race, and vulnerable Democratic House members Emelia Sykes, Greg Landsman and Marcy Kaptur on the ballot.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin isn’t sure if he can be the party’s leader. However, Democrats are still counting on him, convinced he needs more time, and, without David Hogg, he will have a “free hand” to bring the party to victory in 2026 and 2028.

Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers and Lee Saunders of AFSCME, declined offers to stay on. Weingarten cited disagreements with Martin.
