A suspect is in custody after Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were fatally shot Saturday, while state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were wounded.
The family of Melissa and Mark Hortman, who were killed by a gunman in their home over the weekend, has gathered at the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in Minnetonka to oversee the formal procession for the Hortmans.
A manhunt is underway for the gunman who was impersonating a police officer and had a list of possible targets, officials said.
At least five current and past staffers at Twin Cities-based Planned Parenthood were on Vance Boelter's hit list, with sources close to the investigation telling WCCO they're looking at whether those on the list were targeted because of their support for abortion rights.
Two days before her assassination, Hortman made a plea for more bipartisanship and face-to-face conversations, rather than social media echo chambers.
