The major champion finished second to Linn Grant in The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican but still won the $1 million Aon Risk Reward Challenge.

Trying to play her way into the LPGA’s lucrative season finale, Brooke Matthews earned a two-year lease on a Lamborghini Huracán. That was the prize on offer on the par-3 12th at Pelican Golf Club. Matthews, from 142 yards, hit her tee shot near the middle of the green and watched it roll directly into the cup.

Li, a former child prodigy now playing full-time on the LPGA, shot 65-66 on the weekend to tie for fourth place at The Annika. It’s her best finish of the season, and moved her from 71st to 58th on the CME points list, earning her a spot in the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples.

With just 18 holes to play at The ANNIKA, Li is in a three-way tie for fifth at 10-under for the tournament and is currently projected to climb to 60th in the Race to the CME Globe if she maintains or betters her current position, a 54-hole performance that has bolstered her self-belief ahead of one of the most important final rounds of the year.

Linn Grant became the first Swedish player to win The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. It's somewhat fitting given that three years ago, Grant became the first woman to win on the European Tour by winning the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, another tournament hosted by Sorenstam.
