PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Authorities in Maine said Friday they have charged a 17-year-old with murder in the death of a paddleboarder who went missing on a rural pond that is a popular summer destination.

The 17-year-old suspect in the death of Maine paddleboarder Sunshine Stewart was charged with one count of murder on Friday.

U NION, Maine (WGME) -- The 17-year-old Maine boy charged with murder in connection with the death of a paddleboarder in Union has been identified. According to court documents, 17-year-old Deven Young is accused of killing 48-year-old Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart of Tenants Harbor.
