Lincoln Highway Hackensack River Bridge which carried Truck Rt 1 & 9 between Jersey City and South Kearny. The 1,480 ft vertical lift bridge, officially the Shawn Carson and Robert Nguyen Memorial Bridge, opened in 1954. The original crossing was a cable ferry known as Brown's Ferry. The Morris Canal also had a crossing adjacent to this bridge to the immediate south.
