The Mirrlees single cylinder engine. Last year the engine ran for the first time, we lubricated the piston, small end and large end manually that's with a pressure oil can! But in future the mechanical engine driven lubricator "should" replace the oil can. Since I took the video ( yesterday) the oil pipes are all primed it's just a matter of checking the stroke of the actuating lever and making sure it doesn't over stroke the lubricator then set up the numbers of drips. Mirrlees Single cylinder. The engine use to reside at a Liverpool John Moores University. The failure of the connecting rod small end securing bolt occurred on the 20th of May 1998. Yesterday the 31st of March 2023 we turned/ blew the engine over on compressed air. Here is a video of 3 clips of yesterday occasion. I’m still going on about Mirrlees engines, sorry but it was part of my life and other Anson volunteers for XX years! This video from Steven who looks after these engines in the States ( I’m pretty sure the engines now 40 years old are older than Steven) are still run occasionally when regd. There KV16’s running at 500 RPM. Front rockers are the air, rear being exhaust with the fuel injcector in the centre, the steel pipes are one for rocker gear lubrication and the other on the right for exhaust
