Yesterday morning US Coast Guard Air Station Detroit saved six lives in NE Ohio. Five were rescued on this case alone 10 miles off of Ashtabula, Ohio. If you're familiar with the cabin of an MH-65 helicopter, you'll know how full it was with 5 survivors and 4 crew aboard. This rescue was possible because the boaters were able to reach responders via their cell phone after their boat was swamped by a wave & we were able to use the location from the phone to know where to send the air crew.
