Do you recognize these two famous artists? In the late 1980s, Janet Echelman was creating mixed media paintings in Asia when Robert Rauschenberg reached out, asking if he could visit her studio. He traveled to Asia and upon seeing her work, asked if he could curate Echelman’s first U.S. exhibition.
